old herriman.

A few days ago, I was driving through Herriman on the old Main Street. It was dark and cloudy from all the rain we've been having, which made the colors really pretty and vivid. So I decided to pull over and shoot a few photos. Here's what I got.

open mic night.

About a week ago, I went to Trevortex for an Open Mic Night there. I love shooting the live music scene, because the lighting and expressions are amazing. The only downside is that a lot of the time my shutter speed is too slow for the movement of the musicians. But I still managed to get what I think are some pretty good shots. Enjoy!

oops.

Last night, I met up with a friend to take some pictures of her for the scholarship pageant she will be competing in next month. When I had about 100 shots of her, my camera decided to delete all of them. I'll post pictures of her when I take them... again!

bicycles.

Yesterday, I visited downtown Provo to see a show performed by my favorite solo artsit, John Allred. While down there, I got to take some pictures of the city--definitely one of my favorite things to shoot. Due to the warm weather we've been having, there were a lot of bikes everywhere, so I decided to take a few pictures of them. This is how they turned out.

And we can't forget the one and only, John Allred!

first maternity shoot.

My friend and neighbor, Shaniqua, contacted me a few days ago, and asked me if I would do a maternity shoot for her. She explained to me that her roommate, who is not and was never pregnant, has these silly maternity pants that she likes to wear (you know, the ones with the strap that goes all the way up your stomach), and Shaniqua thought they were beyond hilarious, and she also likes to wear them, with a bean bag shoved into them. So, of course, I gladly agreed to shoot her and her pregnant self, and congratulated her on her success!
Aren't these the worst? I was going for a cliche, stereotypical maternity shoot. Although I didn't have a black back drop, and Shaniqua was fully covered, and not wearing a black sheet, I think these are pretty legit! Sorry to all those stereotypical maternity photographers...

*Disclaimer: Shaniqua is not really pregnant.*

the lake.

This lake is about 20 minutes away from my parents' house, and I go there every now and then to take pictures of it, because I love it just so gosh darn much! These pictures are from 2 or 3 different shoots of the same lake. I can't wait until it's warm so I can go up there again! It's too cold right now! Brrr.
